Default 1998 Discovery fender diamonds(?)/amateur radio

Girlfriend and I
picked up our first LR, a '98 4dr Discovery. On each fender, just forward of the turn signal are (for lack of a better term), 3 diamonds. They appear to be factory and are greenish plastic with trim and could almost be lights, if they lit up. Haven't seen them on any other LR and wondered what (if any) significance they had.

Also, would like to hear from any hams on their experience running Land Rover mobile.
thanks, and thanks again to the syop and all those of you for posting great pics and sharing your considerable knowledge

Welcome! The 3 diamonds on each side are a beacon from the other side telling you to buy a ring for your girlfriend to make it official. JK.. Can't tell you what they are but the title of your thread piqued my interest because I used to be big into ham radio years ago (like 31 years ago to be exact). I wish I hadn't given it up but my mentor moved to Utah and being a girl (I was the youngest in the city at the age of 12 to obtain my license) I didn't feel comfortable mingling with all the men on top of the hill. So that's pretty exciting to hear that people are still at it and combining their Land Rovers with it too! I loved communicating with people from all over the world - still do (but with the internet now) Hopefully some other Ham Radio enthusiasts chime in so I can learn a little about 'Land Rover mobile'.

Best of luck!

Renee

Those three "diamonds" sound like some of that stick on bling crap from Pep Boys and the like. LOL
