1998 landrover discovery 1 alternator

Hey guys . So I have a 1998 landrover discovery 1 and the alternator went . Will a 99 landrover discovery 2 alternator fit in mine ?

No but grab yourself a 95-98 P38 120AMP alternator. Plug N Play 100% identical.

Does that need to come from a GEMS P38? Or is the Bosch also plug n play?

95-98 GEMS. The P38 99-02 Bosch unit is excellent in a 99-04 D2 though.
