As the post goes, i appear to be leaking fuel from the tank area whenever I fill up beyond half a tank. It tends to leave a puddle at the gas station

Before i crawl underneath and attempt to trace the source, is there anyone with some advice on where possible leaks could be coming from, or someone who had a similar experience?

Just to confirm, the leaking happens when I fill above half a tank.

Would those parts being replaced potentially correct the issue?

 

If it helps, I have the same issue when filling above half to 3/4 too fast. My vent hose is cracked and leaking. Unsure of the filler hose, but it's worth replacing both at the same time I guess.

 

my 97 D1 does this too. I suspect the vent hose, but the rear body mounts on mine are bad so I suspect fixing the hose will only break again unless I fix the mounting. Gotta love that Minnesota rust....

 

Vent hose, mine does the same. I’m just too lazy to fix it.

 

Mine only leaks when I fill it too fast, and go past the first shutoff when filling. I end up with less than a full tank so I just refill a bit more often. it's on the list to fix...
