Default Wrong distributor in '95, Pertronix connections

Bought a very nice 1995 Discovery. Totally flat accel, found vacuum advance disconnected + broken. In checking distrib numbers (35DM8), it was distributor that fits '83 carbureted one. Have new correct dizzy for this truck, but connectors are different. I can trace the blue and red back to the ignition module-- would this be the correct path? Is the red + and the blue negative and then just connect them to the appropriate poles on the new dizzy? Leave everything else as-is? Many thanks!!

Does the pertronix have a new ignition control module on its side. (See new posted pic) Do I need to eliminate the old ignition module on the firewall?

Here's the new Pertronix-- w/ a new ignition module attached. The instructions are simply "connect factory wiring harness to the ignition module".

if you are using the Pertronix dizzy....I'd use the Pertronix module mounted on the dizzy and eliminate the oem one . Originally the Rover modules were distributor mounted , but later moved forward away from the heat...

That Pertronix (looks like model D175520 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/p...5520/overview/ ) gets it's ignition module wired direct to the coil (White/Green...White/Black see diagram), and the OE is not used.

Is a new Bosch coil OK to use, yes. Is your Bosch coil OK to use...maybe...don't know the age or condition. If I was going to take the time and money to replace the distributor you can bet I would spend $50-$75 on a NEW IGNITION COIL!! I would also get new spark plugs and wires at the same time. Just start with a fresh baseline, you'll be glad you did in the long run. Good Luck!

See pic for the parts/numbers, you can get them here > https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/lan...scovery-hls101

Have already done plugs wires, etc. This truck is very satisfying to work on-- near showroom condition w/ 105k, brand new Michelins. Ran smooth as a watch, but dead flat accel. I think it will come along beautifully w/ a bit of work.
