Default 3 tons of Disco an Florida Gumbo...

Stuck again! Good news, no over heating and nothing broke. Bad news. Mom ain't to happy about her yard.
Getting the diff loc lever freed up has become my priority...

Lol, nah they be big ol' 17" useless in gumbo toyo open country's. quoting Burt Renolds from Stoker Ace "that's slicker than cat sh#t on a linoleum floor!" It will clog up some of the most aggressive mud tires. The fronts are way past needing rotating and were ultimately my demise today. Not being able to lock the diff, well you know the rest...

a 76 cj7 was the first vehicle I owned. owned nothing but 4wd's since with the exception of motorcycles and a 68 Galaxie 500XL. This thing is a different beast or I've forgotten everything I know about driving off road. The two places I've gotten stuck in, I've had other vehicles that I could have made it out of. I guess weight + short wheel base is both a blessing and a curse...

Most of it has to do with the CDL. With it unlocked the power takes the path of least resistance. So if your rear wheels are in mud that's where all the power goes. Lock the center diff and the front and rear pulls together like a jeep with the front hubs locked.

Well, at least you now have a known torture track to test with once you free up the CDL.
