300 tdi water leak after timing belt failure
Hello, I am new to the forum and have searched for help on this topic, I am hoping I don't know the answer already and there may be a simple explanation for it;
Had the timing belt replaced, no issues but it was due, mechanic driving it about 10km the new timing belt goes and does its damage, bent rods, rocker damage etc.
Diesel mech works on it for weeks, replaces all visibly damaged parts, new timing belt etc, tests head, gets it going then it starts pumping water and oil from the sump area. He strips it back again and gets the head tested, that is all good so he puts it all back together again but still pushing the water through.
Anyone have any ideas if there may be a simple explanation before I give up on it?
Thanks

If it is leaking engine coolant and oil from the oil sump area then there must be a bad gasket, bent oil pan or the like.
I assume he replaced the water pump.
Is it maybe leaking from the oil cooler line?
Its hard to belive he missed something when he had the sump off of it but he may have.

No he didn't do the water pump but it is sitting there as I brought it at the same time, probably going to get it down to the rover shop in Perth and see if they have any ideas, hopefully not all bad.
He should have changed the water pump too, I'm not 100% sure about the TD5 but I think the water pump is driven by the timing belt, and when the belt breaks it can bend the shaft on the pump.
