Default 4.0L GEM Cylinder Liners?

Looking to rebuild my extra 4.0L. Do you know where to get the Cylinder Liners. Can the liners be bored safely or is it best to just replace?

I have no experience with the liners, but some on here have looked into them. They all say the cost of the liners then the labor for a machine shop to remove and install 8 of them would buy a rebuilt short block.

But as long as their in there solid , I see no reason why they couldn't be bored/honed a little.

Save your money, you are looking from $800 and up for new sleeves installed. Go buy and old block and build it, including a 4.6 cam, new valve train, reworked heads and bearings.

Sounds like just a honeing job then. Thanks for the reply. Have you heard anyone mounting different engines to the automatic transmission, without causing too many modifications? What engine or engines are compatible with this drive train configuration?
