4.6 (GEMS) short block to replace 4.0 (GEMS)
Hi all,
Why would Atlantic British list the GEMS 4.6 short block for the P38 but not the D1? Both are GEMS and I would think externally identical. I know the ECU needs updated to take advantage of the 4.6 but I'm wondering if there's any physical/dimensional differences that would prevent from dropping right in. I ask here because I'm not getting any answers from Atlantic British.
Cheers!

Thanks Army Rover, good to know it'll work. What makes it extra confusing is they list the 4.6 distributor for all RRC's, regardless of 3.9 or 4.2.

You mentioned short block and are correct, it's a drop in. In fact, I'm doing a 4.6 gems into my D1 right now. The front cover and oil pan are different, as are the ancillary brackets and the thermostat housing.
