Default 94-99 D1 Fuel Tank Vent Line:

When I first bought my 95 D1 I tried to fill it up with gas and when nearly full gas came pouring out on top of the tank. I knew it was the darn 3/4 fuel tank vent line. When I finally got it back home after tearing into the engine up at Austin Roverworks I looked thru the receipts and at the beginning of 2019 that 3/4 vent line was replaced with an AllMakes4x4 hose.

Well basically just one year later that hose was cracked on both ends. Whenever I replace these I honestly DO NOT pay 50.00 for the OEM line or 35.00 for the AllMakes4x4 line. I simply run down to my nearest Auto Parts store and get myself 3ft of 3/4 Gates Fuel Line/Vent Hose. It is a bit harder to slide onto the nipple on the fuel tank end, but eventually you'll get it on there. I use new SS hose clamps on both ends and I've yet to ever have one of those lines fall apart like the original or that AllMakes4x4 junk line. It cost me 12.44 at Oreilly's and 3.00 for the SS HD hose clamps.

So if you've got a RRC/D1 and you need to replace that vent line do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy the OEM line or the AllMakes4x4 line.

Good to know. mine gives a burp when I fill it, and drips a bit until I start the motor and drive about a block. I am nt in the habit of filling the tank all the way up the fill tube, A few more months and this truck is going to be replaced..
