94 disco fuel pump relay
Finally got time to work on the disco. No fuel and no spark. No power to the inertia switch. Put 12V on one side and got fuel. Still trying to figure this out. Love the disco but she is AGGREVATING.
Checked the power to the coil and there is none when cranking. I can only figure it's the ECM. Anyone else have any suggestions? Also, if I bypass the alarm do I need to replace it when I put in another ECM? Thanks
the ecm has no effect on the spark on the 94-95 distributor equiped vehicles....the ignition is as they say a stand alone system.....look in the rave for a correct test procedure.....but when you turn the key to the second "on" position you should have 12v at the "+" on the ignition coil, also....the distributor has an amplifier module that may be mounted on the side of the dist, or near the ignition coil if it has been relocated as reccommended.....if the cap and rotor are clean inside( contacts arent burnt looking) the may be ok. check spark with a spark checker ....as it has a larger gap that will better show the strength of the ignition system than just using a regular sp plug.....also if the battery is weak you may not get good results so make sure it's charged good to eliminate that
I finally got it figured out. I don't have a key fob and couldn't reset the alarm. I ended up disconnecting the battery for a while and then hooking t back up. All is good now. Thank you everyone for your help.
