Default 94 Disco won't start. Feel like I've tried everything.

Car went out in the drive thru, possibly overheated, not 100% on that. Anyway I replaced the spark plugs and it started, drove but felt like it was misfiring. Went to check the wires and now it wont start. Replaced the wires, a bunch were corroded), distributor cap, rotor, i even put in a new air filter, checked the fuel rail (good pressure), fuel pump and filter. Coolant level, which was low. Still nothing. It was combusting in a cylinder or two for a little while and now nothing. Any help would be appreciated before I take it in.

Check for spark.
The ignition control module could be bad.

My rover sat for 2 months after doing tune-up and replacing fuel pump. I checked everything. Changed out coil, checked timing, etc. to no avail. Started over and found the rotor I got from Autozone was bad. Got cap and rotor from AB and it started right up.

So with the bad rotor you saw that you had no spark? Using one of the spare plugs or just an old one you had not thrown away yet?

There should be very little resistance at rotor. I took coil wire out and started car and listened. Then I used a spare spark plug. Then I removed distributor cover, disconnected coil wire and held it above rotor and turned car over and it sparked. I also got plug wires from autozone that were not good. I would recheck to make sure plug wires on right cylinders. Seems you have to order most parts for these.

It sparked holding the coil wire just above the rotor--bad rotor. Use insulated pliers.
