Engine fuel temperature sensor (EFT Sensor),Engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT Sensor), Intake air temperature sensor (IAT Sensor) All can create this problem.

Default Oh so close...

Almost had some good info there lrd2.... Fts is only used by the ecm on startup sequence and there is NO iats on the 14cux trucks like rrc, early series one discos and defenders

As you read and study more about the various model years you'll find that there are numerous differences.

When engine is cold your timing chain is tight , as engine warms up your timing chain stretch , it will not affect engine running but it will your hot engine start ups.Change your timing chain.Or drive as is.

Default Reporting Back

Just thought I'd report back on my warm start issues. I had checked many of the usual things (ECT, IAT, etc.) and finally found my fuel pressure was low (~20psi). After a new fuel filter and fuel pump (I swapped in the Airtex E3270 for $80) and everything is good now. I think the pump was towards the end of it's useful life (and the fuel filter wasn't flowing as well as it should, which probably wasn't helping things either), and when warm, it just wasn't pushing enough pressure.

Running strong now... 224,xxx miles and counting (always on 87 octane... mentioned that just for funsies for all the guys that claim 87 is the devil for these).
