Default My warm Discovery won't start!!!

Hey everyone, Happy New Year! My baby is having a problem. She is a '96 Discovery and she won't run when hot. She will crank and fire momentarily but then dies. After several attempts, if I give it lots of gas, it will stay running but idle rough for 30 seconds, then run fine. And after cooling down, she has no problems. She doesn't have any signs of overheating, no engine lights on, no codes showing on my computer, and no other problems at all. My mechanic says "I dunno" and wants to just start replacing parts.I say I'd at least like a clue before forking over lots of dough! If anyone has any clue, I would appreciate the assistance. Happy Holidays!

Sounds like a dirty fuel filter to me! Replace it and let us know how it turns out!

Relay good possibility pull it out (yellow) and look for brown areas near the contacts. fuel filter????? now I have put a bunch of pumps in. Get it to do it and have someone with a pocket screw driver to push in th schrader valve on th fuel rail. The fuel filter will worsen after the car starts and progressively get worse as you drive ( fuel passing through trapping particles against the element) Now the relay will have trouble dropping if the connection is bad especially hot. Pumps get lazy hot too also the viton seat , if failed, in the neck of the pump ( check valve) allows the fuel rail presure to release and will cause a hot start issue. scott

I'd like to know I have the same problem, it would be a no brainer if the tune-up wasn't done but it is. So I'm kind of running out of options.

The issue cleared itself. I'll check the truck out later this week.
