95 D1 Rear Windows
The PO on Mutley said the rear windows worked until he took the console apart to fix the lights on the gear shift. CLAIMS that there is a wire broken because of that. So fronts work rears do not.
Is the PO full of BS or should I start the trouble shooting there?
Bought a 1996 SE parts unit so parts are NOT a problem just not looking to make a large project out of it.

Start by pulling the rear window ECU and reflowing all the soder points. There is a write up in our tech section. It will tell you where it is and how it removes. If you can soder it will take you maybe 15 minutes to fix them. That is the most likely culprit and the resolder or jumper fix is about 99% effective (there are a couple of people still having problems with theirs). Good luck. There are alot of threads on this so search around.

the po of mine said both rear motors were burnt out... The ecu solder fixed the power supply to the rears but one was jury rigged in the up position and the plug pulled to the switch because of a broken regulator roller. So not only did they obviously lie, but what they said was the problem would have cost way more to fix than what really happened (maybe $10). I guess moral of the story is unless you know the po you can just assume at best they don't know what they are talking about. But i like how the late-great george carlin puts it: link
You can use this info http://discoweb.org/window/index.htm until spike gets one up here. The only thing I had trouble with was unbolting the front bolts on the ECU housing. It is extremely cramped in there, I don't have the greatest selection of tools and I probably fall in the at or below average intelligence category. So I unbolted every thing I could see holding the bottom of the dash frame in place (where the glove box hinges). Put on a leather glove and pulled till I could safely slide out the ECU.

What like it's so hard working, raising a family, starting a rover parts company, helping 1000 strangers every week diagnose their car problem? Can't find time to post another sticky? Geez man get it together!
