Interesting issue here....
My 95 Discovery stalls after about 20 minutes of running and won't restart for at least 30-45 minutes, just cranks and cranks and cranks.
Fuel is present at the rail, although I do not know at what pressure, only that it squirts out when depressed.
Spark is present as I pulled a spark plug wire and held it against the manifold and saw spark.
Air would be the other necessity here, but I can not imagine that the air is any more restricted at minute 20 than it is at minute 5.
I was getting a code 48 stepper motor code on the OBD-1 display. I replaced the stepper motor and the issue is still present.
Any thoughts or ideas? Anyway to check fuel pressure without a fancy gauge?
All your help is appreciated.
Thanks

You may have a fuel pump (or relay) that's heating up with use, then quitting until it cools down. Checking the fuel pressure should confirm this. Low fuel pressure will cause the engine to quit running instantly (unlike a carburetor that will sputter and die). You want over 33 psi at the fuel rail.
