Default 95 disco - Tranny problem - no Drive

Changed ATF and filter a couple of weeks ago, fluid level is good, tonight I put the diff lock lever back in after getting it un stuck - backed out of the garage put it in D and something went clunk. I have reverse, cant start out in D, I can start in 1 only and then shift into D and it will shift up and down ok until I stop then have to go back to 1 to get going again , cant start in 2 or 3 either. rave says "No 2 freewheel" - can anyone elaborate on that.

Also symptoms are the same in 4 hi and lo and if the diff is locked or not

Thanks Mike

Sounds like your trans is toast, this is the "A" typical symptom of a failed ZF transmission.
It is odd that it happened all of a sudden, usually there is a warning, like only happens when cold but is fine once warmed up.
Pull the filter again, make sure the "O" ring is still in place.
If thats all good then have it professorially flushed.

it was most definatly sudden - there was a definate slam of something flipping inside out or just giving out, it does try to move when in drive it so maybe there is still a chance. I'll update after I check things out
