Im having the same problem with my disco did you ever figure out what it was? we replaced the camshaft position sensor which got rid of that code but still runs the same. Got P1313 & P1314 codes. Thanks!

ok so it was the CKP. The land rover mechanic was stumped as well, which makes me feel a little better, so he just tried a CKP that he had in the shop and magically the problem disappeared.

What a nightmare!

Thanks to all who gave some input on this issue and I hope this post will be helpful to others in the future.

Cheers,

Ben

So the CKP is the camshaft position center?

No - CKP is the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

Default Is testing a CKP possible?

Not sure where'd I be without this forum (probably living in the desert in a tent after being stranded) I am having similar issues and I am starting to suspect the CKP as well. I just replaced the fuel pump 2 months ago and the symptoms sound similar but not as bad yet. I have yet to have the car not start after cutting out.

I don't have access to an oscilloscope but I am handy with a voltmeter. Anyway to test?

Thanks!

A complete fault might show up as open or short, it is just a coil of wire. But if it acts up when heated pour cool water over the sensor on the side of the engine to restore normal operation. Complete fault will stop spark operation, which is also a sign.

I got off easy. I followed another thread and sprayed half a can of carb cleaner on the IACV and for about a day my issue hasn't reared its head.

This is good info for testing though!

Thank you so damn much! I had this same problem!! after changing the fuel pump, fuel filter, catalytic converter, camshaft sensor, mass air sensor, checking the injectors, spark plugs, coils.. damn... this fixed my problems, "crankshaft sensor" and problem went away just like magic! Seriously guys this is my first post, but thanks to this site I've saved a bunch of money.. Thank you again!!!
