Default '96 Disco won't re-start after warming up

1996 Discovery SE7. Runs great, starts every time when cold... but after running awhile and then parking and shutting engine off... it won't restart. If it does start, it sputters for a few seconds and then takes off when you give it some throttle... after that it runs fine again. I was thinking maybe fuel pressure regulator? Any ideas?

First check your fuel pressure, there is a valve on the fuel rail, you can rent a fuel pressure tester.
Fuel pressure should be in the 30's.

If that is good then it is your fuel temp sensor, that is what tells the ECU how much fuel to give the engine when you start it by telling it how hot the fuel is.
The hotter the fuel the more it needs because it vaporizes before it can get into the engine.
More fuel less vaporization=easier hot starts.

Default I'm having a similar problem

My 1996 Disco isnt starting either. It snowed pretty harsh the other day and after taking it over to my friends house, it wouldn't start in his driveway. I got it towed by him back to my house and now I am stumped. I too have plenty of fuel pressure at the fuel rail, and I know that the fuel pump is pumping. I can hear it turn on when I turn the key on .

Anything else I should check? The engine is cranking fine but no kick.

Thanks Guys!

You need to check for spark.

Hi, how exactly should I check for spark? Just take out the plug, ground it, and have someone crank the engine and see if I notice a spark?

Yup, that simple.
You dont need to ground it though, just let it hang off of the plug wire.
And make sure you are not hanging onto it.
