Default 97 DI Overheating after replacing water pump

My 97 DI's water pump went out. After replacement it drove fine for about 10 miles no over heating then on 3rd drive it started to creep up and after shut off there is a bubbleing sounds in the Expansion tank and Radiator hoses. the bubbling in the tank stops and starts. (this is with the engine off) Temp got up to about 240. Nothing seems to be leaking. Could one of the teeth from the propeler on the old water pump got pushed through somewhere and cause a blockage?
