97 Disco Auto, 185000 Mi, Only highway Driven. Soccer Mom Car.

She has become very hard to turn at low speeds. Stiff steering wheel. Front wheels skipping when turning at slow speed into parking space. Makes a loud Clunk/Bang when backing and turning out of space. Feels like Diff Lock is engaged but light is off. Does same thing if I put Transmission and Diff lock into neutral and coast down hill? Had front drive shaft u-jonts changed and changed transfer case oil. Same problem. Wants to "push" through turns a low speed.

Any thoughts on what this could be? Transfercase? C/V joints?, Bushings? Bearings?

CV's, hub bearings or swivel pins.

 

Sounds like the CDL is still locked, likely to now have a broken half shaft or CV.
