Angry 97 disco 3.9 v8 stuck in drive and 3rd

hi disco is stuck in drive and will only move to 3rd there are no warning lights on any ideas thanks

Yes, give us some more information, when was the fluid last changed, is it low or burned and what have you done so far to find it?

pop the little cover on your shifter. Odds are the little button has come loose from the mechanism. You should be able to see how the shift rod moves so you can shift it out of drive.

If the nut ontop of the gear shift it good and tight then crawl under the truck after setting the parking brake and check for a blockage on the shift linkage.

fluid was changed 9 months ago and is ok ive not done anything yet before it got stuck in drive i drove it home it was changing thru all the gears when i got home went to put in park but it would only go to 3rd and drive so its still in drive at the moment like i said no warning lights are flashing

pop the cover off the shifter and look. It is either the shifter or linkage.

You wont get any check engine light with a transmission fault.

thanks to everyone for your help im back on the road again took top of gear shifter and circlip had come of replaced and all sweet thanks
