98 D1 4 to 5 starts than out
PepBoys had the Bosch at a good price but the damn thing does not have a top handle on it like most do so it was difficult to lower in, I ended up using a luggage strap from an old travel bag to loop under it to aid in lowering in place and for future removal.
First of all, should have installed an 800 CCA or above battery.
At this point your battery is dead, need to either charge or jump it and take the truck down to a local parts store where they can test the charging system for free. You have to be above 13.6 volts.
Let us know what you find.

FWIW, I had an interstate sit dead and frozen in my garage all last winter. Once I got the truck up and running, I tossed it in, gave the truck a jump, drove it around for about 3 hours, and haven't had a single problem since.
Often times, an intermittent start problem is usually associated with poor ground connections at the starter to frame connection as well as the battery ground connection to the frame. This can be resolved by doing new ground connections to the frame at both components.
My 97 had developed an intermittent start problem and I fixed it by abrading the frame down to bare metal with a deburring bit from my Dremel kit. I then drilled a pilot hole in this bare area and attached new ground lugs todirectly to the frame with a self-drilling body bolt. For the starter, I merely cut off the existing lug, stripped the existing cable and crimped on a new lug. For the battery, I bought a new cable from Pep Boys.
Yes a new battery will work fine for a while, but if the grounds are corroded, the problem will return. Tom offered new cables made from welding cable and high grade lugs at a very good price. Do a search and you will find all the details along with some pics I posted.
