Default 98 Disco Cruise Control

I think we can get it working.

I recently replaced all the vacuum lines. The cruise switch does turn orange when I press it, i.e it turns on.

What would be the next course of action to trouble shoot this?

I looked at the RAVE diagram and I see a lot of sensors and so forth. The pump is 300 bucks from roverparts, as well as the ecu.

Do a search, there is a write up on how to diagnosis the cruise, it might even be in the tech section.

1.Check all fuses!!
2. Pull out the pump and hook up a battery to it to make sure that the pump does turn on. (can't test on road because ECU does not let pump engage until 33 mph is reached)
3. Check all vacuum lines again.
4. ECU replacement with working one. (I got a spare from Rover Bones for $10.)
5. Check the connections on the steering wheel, take air bag out. Make sure you disconnect the battery before you do this. There are screws not the backside of the wheel.

Ok. I will do the above and report back.

as far as the vacuum pump, is it pretty simple to do? just a positive and negative onto it right?

also, do you know where the ECU is located?

.Thanks a ton!

brake pedal switch was not attached, however, this did not solve the problem. I got the pump in my hands. is there a way to test this with a battery or something?

Note - it is not required to take steering wheel apart to just check switches. You can test their operation at the cable connector that goes into cruise module, If you poke them and make volts change, no need to tear into wheel. Connector C284, pins 3 & 4.
