Paul, Some people love NYC, that's all good for them, I do not care for anyplace that crowded.

I agree with Chris-Bob. Who cares where he lives.

The gentleman could have saved everyone a lot of trouble had he been more informative in his first posting.

Most people who come in as a new member experiencing these kind of problems and asking for help are not in the same "blessed" situation as the gentleman apparently is.
He also sounded very snobbish when he informed us of all his lovely abodes he has experienced. If he is so clever, how did he end up in such a dilemma? Anyway, I hope he picks the best LR mechanic that you can refer him to and gets his moneys worth.

Eric, that is a nice one but if I spent 40Grand on one , I would be hesitant to take it into the woods, even though they are amazing as an expedition vehicle.

I would prefer one of these two for cruising in civilzation:

They compare it with a Ferrari 356 in acceleration.

Woah everyone, relax. Some of the bitterness isn't necessary.

How I ended up in this situation was that the 98 disco waterpump malfunctioned and the car overheated in under 5 mins of driving. Sorry for making a mistake. I'm not a motorhead, I just like 80s-90s discos.

But another little update. Found a buyer that will pay 2k for the car. So I'm going to counter at 2.5, if I get any push back, then I'll just settle for 2k.

I purchased a '11 Audi A8 with only 8k miles. I'll be fine with that for a while.

Thanks for posting henrys autos, I'll probably reach out about a def90.

Appreciate all the help to those that offered help. Some of you others, I'm surprised you can even see me all the way up in your ivory towers. Ha. Just kidding fellas. Its an internet forum, nothing to be taken seriously. But if you think the way I act online is the way I act in real life, then please see the following;

But if any of you ever make the decision to come to actual society in NYC, then I'll show you how to live correctly. You know, proper education, a legitimate profession, interacting with people that actually matter, and beautiful women. But if you make under 400k a year, then you probably don't belong. You're more suited to Brooklyn. Have fun with the hipsters...

In all seriousness, thanks all. Your guidance was helpful.

Exactly the kind of response I expected. Talk about in love with yourself and an egotistical idiot.

Danny, either you don't get sarcasm or you didn't read my post carefully enough. Take a breather and re-read.

Ok, it sounded awfully boorish at first, but I will give you credit for your humour, that is why I posted the Have fun.

I am sure if you are properly acclimated to that region and have the finances to truly indulge, then it must be wonderful. I still never cared for that kind of congestion on a daily basis.

Sorry if I didn't let that shine thru. Did you see the Benz 6.3 restoration that is at the first link I posted to Henry's Automotive? That would be an awesome car to have.

Hi Honda,

Not surprisingly, it did not. The guy looked at me like I had 4 heads. I settled on 2k. Considering the car doesn't run, has minor dings/scratches, and the front bumper needs some repair, I'd say it's a good deal.

Will be delivering the car to his address once the money clears my account.
