Hi and thanks for any help in advance.

My 98 Discovery V8i is having problems starting. It happened unexpectedly from one start up to another.

When i try to start my engine, I hear a constant clicking sound coming from the passenger footwell. If i hold the key to start position, the engine will fire but not crank over.

All electrical seems to work fine, lights, radio, wiper blades, etc. Im not sure what could have caused this but it has been raining hard and I wonder if its do to something in the ECU getting wet.

Any help will truly be appreciated.

Classic sign of the ECU (passenger side fender wall in black box) getting wet. Can be carefully dried and weather-proofed, some one posted about this just last week.

 

Thanks for the links...i definitely have to weather proof...she started right up after a few hours.
