adjusting kickdown cable
97 with ome shocks, springs, bilstein damper, brush bar with hella's,yakima racks,277/70 michelins,108k miles.when i floor pedal to engage kickdown i practically have to push pedal to floor, how do i tighten that so it will engage without pedal being floored or is that the way it's supposed to be.appreciate all imput
thanks, been looking and it says cable should be between .25 and 1.25mm what i'd like to know from someone whose adjusted their's is appr. how to determine where it is supposed to be [from turning nut to tighten or loosen where it engages]
thanks, read those threads and my cable does also have about 1/2" droop in it,thought i could adjust so i didn't pretty much have to floor pedal but i guess that's the proper setting [based on measuring distance and 6threads on screw behind ****]
Instead of what the rave described, I went with getting my idle/throttle cable adjusted then, without touching the throttle cable, adjusted the t.v. (kickdown) cable. Adjusted it to the point where it was opening the throttle then backed off a bit.
Another thing you might check is if the floor mat is bunching up underneath the gas pedal. I have seen it before.

thanks for the pic, looks like your kickdown cable position doesn't have slack so i'm thinking if i just loosen front nut and back it in to where it's tighter that should do it without touching upper throttle cable.does the threaded piece have to be twisted to back it in [is that why you should disconnect connection to linkage?] don't want to start turning threaded piece back if it spins cable all the way in to tranny!
