Yeah, but until I do, I want to make sure I keep missing out on all the fun.

As for the hood alarm switch, just unplug it, at least for testing. Shorts to ground when opened. Which also means that a momentary ground on the wiring harness in the right spot will cause similar issues.

Going to try it tomorrow. I happened again last night, driving over the train tracks.....

My only fix for this is to turn off ignition and restart. This only occurs in my 97 Disco during Mud Season in VT. Get up on a partially frozen rut and bam! Yer sideways wit no radio, no accessories, and annoying noise. Neutral then off and on. Best fix.

From our long drive home yesterday, I hit bit rut on the freeway.....2x!!!!

Finally ordered a new inertia switch from AB, which was at a very good price.

BTW. The alarm hood switch was not the issue. I actually remembered about it, when I cleaned the engine from all the dried mud.....I forgot to plug it back....

I had this happen over the weekend while wheeling up in Pismo, came up a couple of dunes a bit hot and landed hard. Doors unlocked and hazards flashed. Firs time i was like WTF, cycled the car and it reset. Next day same thing happened after a hard landing. Did same ignition off, restart truck to reset. The inertia switch that is tripping is part of the alarm module and not the inertia switch under the hood fwiw. If it were a big enough hit to reset the fuel pump inertia switch it would activate the alarm one as well..
