Default Alarm randomly goes off

Hey, I was hoping someone here can help me.

For the past 24 hours my truck's alarm would randomly go off and then stop within 30 seconds to a minute. It does it randomly every few hours while parked. The only way I get it to stop is by leaving the doors unlocked, but I work at a shopping mall and I prefer not to do that.

I drove the truck a lot the past few days. My friend made the alarm go off once because she tried to open the door while it was locked. I stopped it using the keypad. Could this have triggered it to be going off randomly like this? It's making me crazy lol and I dont feel safe leaving it unlocked, but if I lock it, it will keep going off every few hours.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Stop using the key and use the fob if you locked the car with the fob and unlocked it with the key the alarm will sound from time to time. These alarm systems are junk to start with you may have to do a reset with the key in the drivers door lock. Also you could have a door lock not working properly they are electric. God help you if you have the motion sensor for the inside and it is crapping out. Let me know I have taken the alarms apart and bypassed them.

I have been using only the key to physically lock the door and the alarm hasn't been going off randomly. I am afraid to use the fob now lol

Also, my rear passenger lock doesn't lock sometimes, but it's only occasionally. Could that be what is causing this issue?

Thanks a lot for your input!

Yes if the back door is not locking all of the time that can cause it. I will tell you that the back door lock is a pain to take out and put back in. Pull the back door pad off ( go ahead and call Eric at Atlantic British and order new door tabs you will break the old ones and get a removal took for the panel) Check the wiring to the lock and see if it is loose or nicked. If you do replace it take a lot of pics before and during and leave your temper outside of the rover. hahaha

On mine the back was not always locking due to a lazy spring ion the lock mech, but it never caused alarm issues.

Sounds fun....lol

My rear hatch lock has never locked when I use the fob ever since I got the truck. I manually lock it with the key all the time. It never opens with the fob either.

I also noticed that my rear driver side door lock doesn't lock sometimes as well, but it is very rare that it doesn't. Another thing...the red light on the dask never used to blink when I would unlock my truck. Now it does it on occasion until I start the vehicle. It never blinks when the truck is locked, only when I unlock it.

Apparently my alarm HAS been going off at night and I just haven't been noticing. My neighbor was a bit furious this morning...so..at this point I really just want it to be quiet in the easiest way possible.

I am no good with alarm systems. Any suggestions on "pulling the plug" on it for now? Until I have the time to actually go about fixing my door locks, if that is the case?

Thanks!

... and suddenly silence will descend on you in the forum...

I tried that and the response was to the effect of: "How can someone on an open forum tell you how to break into a Landrover?"

I was expecting a response like this LOL

I'll figure it out, as always. Trial and error.

Already found some advice on the web, gonna try a few different things.

Thanks! lol : )
