Hi, I have a 300tdi ES Discovery (1996) and am having issues with the alarm. Basically it keeps on going off with no rhyme or reason, and this has also happened whilst driving. I have located a control unit AMR 2109 which sometimes clicks which I believe controls the alarm. The central locking also does not work. I have the 2 keyfobs (single button) but pressing the button fails to visably activate the alarm as the indicators dont flash anymore. Looking under the radio there is a blinking red LED which sometimes flashes (I assume the alarm is active) but sometimes when it is not flashing the alarm goes off when the car door is opened. Does anyone have any advice on how to solve the problem or could anyone advise me if it is safe to remove the AMR 2109 unit with no other loss of functions.
