hello everyone, the alternator started squealing on me the other day, it only does it on start up for a few minutes though, i don't want to replace the whole alternator because it works fine. does anyone know what kind of bearing and where i can find them?

 

Are you 100% sure it is the bearings and not the belt?
Typically the bearings make noise all the time and not just at start up.

Remove the belt, spin the alt by hand, does it make noise?

You can buy rebuild kits on e-bay.

 

yes its the alt. lol i spun it and it made noise . also it was squealing all the time but now it only does it when you start it. i think the disco just likes to f*&K with me .lol

i'll look on evil bay for a rebuild

Yes, but you have to make sure it fits your alternator.

 

is there something on the alt that tells me what bearings i need?

 

does anyone happen to know what bearings i need ? i would really like to order them so i can fix the problem
