another IACV high idle thread
I've read through a lot of the other posts on this while trying to solve this issue. Idle is at 1200. I did all the usual stuff but nothing has really changed the idle speed. Then I remembered reading somewhere about unplugging and plugging back in the iacv to reset it but I couldn't find that post again. So I just started trying stuff...
If I unplug the iacv while the car is running, shut the car off, plug the iacv back in, restart, the idle is 700-800. Then I shut the car off and start it a second time and it goes back to 12.
Because the car idles at 12 without the iacv plugged in I'm wondering if it just simply not working most of the time... or??

cleaned the throttle body and iacv. also replaced the iacv gasket. Incidentally the iacv gasket I replaced looked like it was homemade...
