I feel stupid asking this, but where is the OBDII connector located, and how will I know connectors 5 and 15? Every vehicle I've owned up to this point has been OBDI, and I just bought a '96 Disco with the ABS light on.

EDIT: I answered my own question. Here is the pin diagram in case anyone else is looking. Sort of self-explanatory anyway:

I just tried this, got a 2-8 code, no power. Checked all the fuses, the 30 amp one under the hood was missing. Put a new fuse in, cleared the 2-8 code, and took it for a test drive. ABS light was on at first (self-test) but went out as soon as I got about 5 MPH. Then I tapped the brakes and the light came on again. Now I have a 2-14 code, front left sensor. I want to tap it back it, but what do you guys suggest using to tap it? The sensor is kind of small and has wires coming out of the middle, I don't want to hit it too hard and break something. Thanks for the excellent writeup, by the way.

Okay, I tapped the sensor in with a toy hammer the neighbor kids left in my yard. I cleared the 2-14 code, and drove for at least 5 minutes without the light coming on. I thought it was fixed, but then it showed up again. I wasn't even braking!

Anyway, now I have a 5-14 code, "front left sensor wire has an intermittent fault – check connection(s)".

So the problem is definitely front left. I'll keep spinning my wheels (no pun intended) to see if I can get to the root of this.

You can hook up an ohm meter and wiggle the front left wires to see if you are losing continuity/resistance as the wires sometimes break due to stress on the wires because of the installation angle (lame engineering design from the factory). If you search Discoweb, you will find info on a fix for this, but you better have the time/patience to do it.

Finally, ABS is working! Took it on a 12 mile drive, and the light did not return. Went on some snow/dirt/mud, slammed on the brakes, and the function like ABS should. Bit noisier than some ABS systems, but now that pesky light is gone at least!

Exclamation 2-6 Stop light switch

Hello ! I have the code :2-6 Stop light switch

I have read that is is the switch behind the brake peddle. It controls the brake lights and shifting out of park.

My brake lights work great and I can shift with not hesitation.

Any one have any answers for me ?

Thanks in advance !
