You described it exactly. I saw the black box but I could not read a name on it. I better question the person I bought it from as this was supposed to replace my lost key fob issue. Looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and let Land Rover make me a new one. Thanks again.

On a D2, you can program a used keyfob to your car, with the appropriate scan tool. I bought an extra one used, got a new blade for it and had it cut. It had no issues.

Hawkeye, nanocom, autologic, and faultmate are amoung the after market diagnostic tools that will do the job. Shops that specialize in Land Rover should be able to do the job, and might be cheaper than the dealer. Some dealers are less likely to try a used remote. Of course you can also buy a new remote from bputah.com
