Bought new battery for the disco, Horn wont stop when leads are connected

SOS. Just bought a new battery for my '95 Disco and every time I hook up the positive lead to the battery, the horn sounds continuously and won't shut off. Any idea as to what is going on and how to fix it?

Continuously as in one long beep or on & off like the alarm?

Yeah, push the alarm's hood switch down prior to and during connection of battery.
