Brake job, swivel housing seals
Good morning fellow enthusiasts!
I plan to start an overhaul of my brake system, new pads rotors seals bearings the whole jazz. I bought the rotor kit that's comprehensive for the brake job and Ive scoured the forums and found several amazing write ups that give me the confidence to tackle the brakes. My biggest question I am hoping someone will have an easy answer to is, while I'm that deep in the axel it only makes sense to do the swivel housing seals and such as well. I don't know that mine are leaking but at almost 160k miles and already being that deep into things I feel it doesn't hurt to just go ahead and replace the seals and fill with one shot. When I look at the swivel housing kit there are a lot of seals that overlap what I am already getting with the rotor kit, what extra seals do I need specifically to seal the housing as I imagine it will be cheaper to buy just those seals rather than a kit that I will have extra seals to keep up with. My spare parts room (our guest bedroom) is starting to fill up and the wife's not to happy so I'm trying to avoid buying extra parts for a little bit! Or if there's advice to just leave them alone that may also be the choice. Ive devoted 2026 as the year of the land rover so I'm working to get a lot of parts replaced to keep it running for MANY more miles. Side note I'm already saddened that I chose brakes over a new front bumper, but budgets are budgets and I think stopping better is the more fiscally smart choice XD Thanks in advance I appreciate the collective group!

It may well be a good time to do it, but if it was me I wouldn't. It's not that much work to access it later if you need to. And if they do start to leak they'll give you lots of time to replace them before they strand you. (Just my .02)
That's the type of .02 I'm looking for! Lord knows enough stuff is already leaking. Ive watched several videos and read several write ups so I'm feeling confident. Mine doesn't have much rust in various places so fingers crossed things come out easy enough. Ive got new bolts and hardware coming to replace anyway.
