Default Broken Headlight Switch?

My headlight switch started acting goofy the other night so I figured I'd double check to make sure it's the problem before shelling out the beans for a new one. The headlight part of it works like it should, turns on headlights and parking lamps just fine. Turn signals both work ok as well. The problem is in the dimmer, the high beams both work but they wont stay on unless you hold the mast back. If you release it to its neutral position you can hear it click like the high beams are being turned off and on but the high beams go dark unless you hold the switch. Bulbs are both good so I dont know what else it could be. It still sounds like the high beams are being turned off and on and the switch feels fine but like I said they dont stay on unless you hold the switch back. Sound like just a bad switch or is there something else I should look at before ordering one?

Bad switch, rotate wheel 90 degrees to get at it. You are right, no relays between there and the bulbs.

I had to change my stalk out because the dash and tail lights would not work with the switch turned to the headlight position. I bought a replacement from Paul Grant about half of what a new one cost.

Somehave disassembled and fixed. My old one is laying in my box of removed LR parts.

Mine is currently doing this but replacing the switch didn't remedy. Shall I check fuses once more?
