Default Broken Tab on 03 04 headlight- anyone know what to do?

Apparently, when the installer installed my driving lights, they relayed it to my headlights. Anyways, I noticed the other day when i was drying the car from a wash that the headlights can be pulled off rather easily from the bottom. The only thing that is holding it is the screws that screw in on the top of the lamp where it is located under the hood.

Does anyone know if there is just a replacement part for the tabs that were broken off? Apparently it looks like it was attached to the front grille as a support to keep them in place.

the area which I think was broken off from the front grille when the installer tried to pull (the headlamps) out to relay the wires)

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Has anyone tried to swap out the headlight bulbs? How did one pull the headlamps out?

Yeah, what a stupid design. Field servicable vehicles should not include non-obvious things in critical components like that. One of my future projects is to replace all of the nylon push-fittings with nylon inserts, stainless screws and colour matched screw caps. I have having parts that 'can break' during routine things like pulling off the inside panel on a door. It's really frustrating nobody in the industry really cares about making something both durable and maintainable out of reasonable parts that won't seize, rust, or snap off when you're just going about normal operations.

I'd love to come up with a wiki for common gotchas like this and potential long-term fixes for the problems. When you're doing real expedition travel, simple and repairable is always better.

The dealership says it's not warrantied as they suspect the broken tabs happened when the installer installed my PIAA driving lights.
They say I need 2 brand new headlight assembly lamps which run $390 each. plus installation labor.

I can't believe how crappy Land Rover is when it comes to things like this with broken tabs and you have to replace the whole headlamp...especially when the headlamp is perfectly scratch free and chip free.

You're almost always better to come up with a fix than replace something, since the original obviously had a flaw that caused the problem in the first place putting a new one in will just likely end up with the same thing happening eventually.

i thought they just had those little plastic ball joints holding them in. I think there is like three per headlight. i got like the female plastic clips from the dealer. i think they were like $2. unless you are talking about something else

I had same problem and fixed it by using coarse threaded screws and a tiny little L shaped piece of metal with 1 hole in it at each end. Very easy fix and has lasted about 3 months now.
