Default Cam shaft position sensor.

My cam shaft sensor o-ring failed. Can I just use right stuff on it or do I need to find a o-ring?

Could you use RTV.....I think the questions is WHY would you?
IMHO, I would not do a HalfA$$ fix with RTV when a proper O ring ( ERR4815 ) is less than $2.00 > https://www.roverparts.com/Parts/ERR4815G
IDK the size, but I'm sure you could match the correct size at NAPA if you don't want to order online.
It's your call. Good Luck!

Well further looking into this and after removing the sensor it seems it has both RTV and a o-ring. I have an huge assortment of o rings at work so it will be going back in with just an o-ring.

So it looks like someone already tried to booger up this simple repair.
O rings AND RTV =

That's a good idea to just use the o ring and fix it right.
And in a Capt Obvious voice.....Just be sure it's rated for motor oil (something like Buna-N).

A good hardware store usually has them if you don't find what your looking for.

I'm thinking they used rtv because the o-ring is just crumbling. Kinda like it was not oil rated.
