Guys I keep playing with different things, on the disco. The CDL is working, but to me the lever action is too stiff. But I don’t really have a reference. How much force, do you need. Bodybuilder, average guy, average lady, 10 year old kid. I was reading a thread about servicing one. Right now, I keep chasing dashboard lights. Down to three, srs, brake and battery.
great weekend.

"10 year old kid" this. Been using mine a lot recently in snow. In and out at speeds up to 50 mph or so.

A bit of use might loosen it up. If you've only been shifting it while stopped, or dead slow, try it while moving a bit. It might go a bit easier.

I bought the 96 first. The CDL on the 96 is stiff, like I worried something would bend, so I thought that was normal. So when my 94 just clicked in without any effort a few years later, I was very happy. Turns out normal is nice and easy.

There are on-line tutorials about cleaning and greasing the linkages, but I think to do a proper job requires removing the center diff.
