Default Central locking, probably a dumb question.

I apologize in advance for the likely dumb question, but how is the central locks supposed to work on the D1? I have a 1996 SD with a 300tdi, so the wiring harness is swapped over and might be missing some features. The truck did not come with a remote for the locks, and I've always just assumed the SD models came with manual locks. But, while I had the door panels off for a project I noticed that there are actuators in all 5 doors, but there are no lock/unlock buttons like you would expect. Is there some Land Rover magic I'm unaware of?

From the RAVE shop manual electrical guide, page 249 of 546, the vehicles without Theft Alarm System (those are very lucky owners) are controlled by driver door lock. It has a small switch. Switch can be bad, door to frame cable can be bad, or just satellite fuse block 2 fuse number four (which is easier to get at than the door switch).

Thank you for the replies. I'm going to be pulling the drivers side door off to adjust the latch (already did the passenger) and I'll check out the switch while I'm in there. The truck does not have the alarm system that I'm aware of. I will also check out the fuse.
