changing panhard bushings - how hard?

I put in rubber twice - and it failed twice.
Actually, A shop Mark's Automotive put in rubber twice and it failed twice.

They said oil leaks were rotting the rubber.
They also fixed the oil leaks.

I don't think it was totally the oil.
I think they were putting in junk Chinese parts. Not sure.

I put in Poly's from Lucky8.

Only in one day and steering is back.
Just a tad - very small wobble now in the new poly on the driver's side.
Seeing any wobble at all - is worrysome.

Here are some pictures of the job - in the parking lot.

The poly bushings just fit into the large bar by themselves without the need for the outer steel ring which the rubber was formed into.

You can get that ring out with a hacksaw.

Take the blade off of the hacksaw.

Put the blade thru the hole in the rod.

Put the blade back on the hacksaw.
Saw thru the metal retainer ring.

Get a small chisel and hammer and push it into the center by hammering it all the way around and it will just fall out.
