Changed fuel filter yesterday, filled up with premium and a bottle of rubbing alcohol, new Kingsborne 8mm wires and set correct spark plug gaps (I wasn't able to do this last time I replaced them)... drove around today long enough with spurts of wide open throttle. Problem seems to have gotten a little better but no cigar just yet. Still no codes from U-G...

In total darkness just now, I'm seeing arcs in wire for cylinder #1... these are brand new wires just installed today! This is total horse****!

Quality control. Spark plug wires probably are tested laying flat on a conveyer, not twisted into pretzels as required to install them. Maybe some of that alcohol or some brake cleaner to get any residue off of it? Replace that wire with an old one?

I contacted Kingsborne already. I am not about to get screwed on these wires. Honestly, I'm getting really irritated with chasing this problem already. I'm about to check the rest of the wires with a screwdriver.. a little shock therapy can go a long way

tooltech, by sock I mean take out the fuel pump assembly take it apart and there is a strainer on the bottom of the fuel pump

sucks about the wires I would be furious, try a spray bottle with water in the dark

Tom, yeah sorry I did figure that out about the sock. Mine is good and clean.

Just tested all the wires using a screwdriver. Only cylinder #1 wire is arcing.. so I hope Kingsborne will replace it.

I swear out of the 12 or 14 vehicles I've owned, fixed up, sold.. never had so much frustration than with this truck! Ha but seriously, wow. Stupid addictions. Anyone interested in joining a Rovers Anonymous club?

I wouldnt discount fuel delivery. Just because you have good pressure at the rail doesn't mean you have good atomization into the cylinder, you could have a dirty injector that is pisssing rather than spraying. If the skip is rhythmic, try replacing the wires one by one with a decent one from your old set until you find the culprit, I have had wires crimped poorly and barely making contact that can't deliver the juice at high demand but all appears happy happy at idle.
