The D1's are a little bigger than the standard size. But since my GPS will plug in and run, I've never done anything about it.

They do sell universal fit ones you could probably mount in there.

All European cars have a cigar lighter and not a cigarette lighter, so yes it is bigger.
The solution, depends.
I have a TomTom GPS which is a British company, that plug fits perfect into my truck but is snug in my work truck's (GMC) power outlet.
My cell phone charger fits loosely, I prop it with something so it wont fall down and come loose.
Best advise I can give you is to Jerry rig something or make due.

*edited* totally misread this at first....

Some of the diy adapters are large enough to fit.. just a matter of experimenting.

Default Cigarette Lighter

Get a cigarette lighter outlet from your local parts supplier. Remove the rear ashtray (from the console), build youeself a plate to cover the hole and install the new 12V outlet (I fitted 2). Run #8 or #10 wires (both + and -) with the appropriate fuse. For 12V access, you have a choice: allways live or on with key on.
I found this set-up very convenient and have less wires around the dash.

Default Thanks for the suggestions

Thanks Guys! I so far have thickened it up with a rubber band, but I'm thinking I'll add a port in an inconspicuous location that is always on.

Have a GREAT day!!
