Default 98 Disco differences??

I've got a 98 D1 and are there any differences between year 98 and other model years for the D1's?. I ask because I'm picking up small comments here and there about stuff like "get a 98 D1 or RRC rear driveshaft".........."98 D1 Steering pump"......... Just stuff like that. So are there any differences with a 98 than the rest?

They are basically about the same design with a few small minor differences. As far as a 98 goes theres not much differences between the years mechanically other then 97-99 have ujoints instead of rotoflex and some earlier i forget the year have distributor instead of coil packs.

Pre '96 is the 3.9 litre engine and they have a distributor.
'96 and on has distributor less ignition and the 4.0 engine.
We are talking about NAS vehicles, the 3.9 was sold until the end of the DI in the rest of the world.
All DI's are basically the same except for a few small differences.
The '99's are where you are going to run into problems when ordering parts.
Just order for a '98 if you have a '99 DI because the DI and DII were both sold in that year.

And to add to that even more, in mid-'97 they went to a slightly different emissions system called Advanced Evap Loss, or AEL. That makes a few parts different, like fuel pump($400-$500+ instead of the pre-ael of $100-$200). I believe o2 sensors are different on the AEL's, but not positive.

AEL O2 sensors are $50 each on amazon. Non-AEL O2 sensors are $100 each on amazon.

So I dont have roto-flex drivelines?. I did look underneath and I saw regular U-joint style drivelines that has grease zerks and was like "hmmmmm, whats this roto-flex I keep hearing about". I also tossed the Sway bars (I did it on my GC also). I do notice it flexs better and has a little bit more sway but does not feel unsafe. I also removed the Airdam thingy underneath the front bumper, doesnt look like such a low rider anymore!. Next is 2" TF springs, maybe .05" spacers for a total of 2.5" of lift, some 265's, bumper, Winch, rear Detroit lockeror ARB if money allows, skid plates. Anyone have any cash I can just have????

Down at the bottom of the left column, click "Rotoflex coupling" It's 69 bucks. Another option if you live on a shoestring budget like me!
