Code P1316 and oil light on after Head gasket replacement
Hi, everyone I just found this forum trying to research the oil light on my Disco 98.
I got it, a couple of weeks ago, with a blown head gasket.
I just finished replacing the head gasket and after idling for about 15 minutes while bleeding the cooling system, I noticed that the Oil light was on, and I got a check engine light with code P1316
I also have the P0300 code "Pending"
Thanks in advance for your comments or ideas.

here is a link to the GEMS system codes and how they are derived...

Looks like some sort of mis-fire problem. Check the plug wires and coil pack are installed correctly.

Thank you very much, for your answer, I will double check the cables, and the coil pack, last night I read and read about the P1316 code, and one of the things that apparently can cause misfire problems is fuel pressure, that kind of rang a bell, because the guy who sold me the LR, gave me a fuel filter that he said, never got to change, so I guess it's also worth looking at the filter and pump...
On the other hand, I can't understand why the oil light is lit, does a bad Oil pressure sensor give a code?
I know that the car has enough clean oil, but I don't want to mess up the engine while trying to fix the misfire.
Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot the oil light on?
Thank you again...

the oil pressure switch can be tested using a battery test light/ multi meter and an air compressor. Although it might be easier to replace the oil pressure switch, only 10 dollars on eBay. The first thing to check is for enough and not too much oil, which i assume you did. After that you can test or replace the switch and if its not that it could be an oil pressure issue maybe due to maybe a main bearing or something like that. But for know i would check you pressure switch. As for the p1316, i would try a tune up such as fuel filter plugs wires, and maybe some injector cleaner like seafoam

More than a few folks have used these Kingsborne wire sets with good results. They are what I use. Good value. Get the 8mm wires.
