Default Code reader connection

Guys I bought a code reader but can't find the connection on my 1997 Disco.
Can anyone help?

There's a black plastic kick panel under the steering column. It should be mounted in there. If that kick panel is missing then the plug is probably tucked up near the transmission tunnel.

If the panel is still there, the plug could be pushed up inside. My connector was there but it was loose on one side and tended to push up inside when I tried to connect the code reader.
