Default read door lock and front bumper mounts

My 98's rear door tends to re-lock itself and requires the key to unlock again. If I use the unlock from the driver's door, the lock button jumps but doesn't always unlock (the child lock is off). It appears gravity is pulling the lock down. Is there a spring or something that should keep the lock button up? Or is this a common situation that it locks itself?

I removed the front license plate holder and discovered the mounting points underneath. Are these intended for mounting brush guards or something else?

Does anyone make a front 2" receiver hitch for D1s? I have a winch on a 2" receiver mount that would be handy to carry for winching from either end.

Spring is sprung and that is why the lock button falls. Wrap a rubber band or O'ring around the button to keep it from falling until you get/fix the spring.

Brush guards are mounted to the frame horns, not to the bumper. There is one brush guard that is mounted to the bumper but I've only seen it on trucks in Europe and Australia. Not available here I don't think.

Good idea on the lock button, Thanks. Will use an O ring.

BTW, I bought a front plate I saw at Dollar General; not a huge sports fan, but thought the silver razorback sort of matched the black disco.
