I have a cracked right hand side exhaust manifold. It is identified as "HRC 2468". I found a replacement that seems identical but identified as "HRC 1583"

Does anyone know what these stand for?

this probably might not help ....but it doesnt hurt to try.......on my '98 ....every time i go in for a state inspection....the inspector hands me a paper that lists a RECALL for" a cracked exhaust manifold " . When I first got the disco , that was the first repair I did as it had been welded and broke again, I got one off of ebay and its been fine ever since...but I didnt know about the "recall" then. I'm sure that the dealer might tell you it has expired, but it cant hurt to ask....all you have to lose is a phone call....good luck

I suggest torquing the replacement in the right order and torque. It helps reduce the chance of cracking.

 

I had to replace one that I screwed up and I bought a used one from the RoverGuy.com for around $50. I don't know if you checked with him, but he had several on hand and shipped it that day with new studs and nuts.
