Default Cruise control cluster

Alright folks another problem with the disco. The cluster on the dash with the cruise control and fog light buttons seems to be not working. I know neither of the buttons actually function, but I’m not getting the backlight either when I press the button. I’ve gone over all vacuum hoses and even used carb cleaner to try and find a leak but I’ve got nothing. I’m guessing it’s electrical but I’m not really sure where to start other than making sure the switches are actually plugged in which I have.

97 disco 1, 175k, 2inch lift, 4.0 v8

Are you saying that the cruise doesn’t work or that the switch bulbs are possibly out? The cruise on D1’s go out because the rubber cracks or there is a leak and it can’t hold a vacuum. Probably the first thing to go on these trucks.

The cruise control does not work, and for that whole cluster the bulbs seem to be not working, but I’ve exhausted the vacuum hose search they all are in good shape

switches suffer from internal corrosion. They are not difficult to take apart, add new bulbs, clean, and re-assemble.

It is very likely a coincidence that both are non-functioning and not a result of being in the same cluster.
