Default cruise control..and other things lol

ok so i went ahead and purchased the missing cruise control switch and housing, from rovers north, along with a bushing kit..disassembled the dash. (wich took forever) just to find that...well i THINK that whoever previously had this rig, when installing the aftermarket radio was a complete...*$%&)&^_*... because its splice and dice in there.. I found the cruise control wires tucked up back in the land of nowhere, and got that hooked up and running correctly. Need to go ahead and rewire the radio, i cant have it like that.. just knowing its back there would drive me nuts. On another note. Tried to change the trans filter and was defeated Seems as if you have to drop the exhaust and crossmember to get the pan out. I just didn't have the time, since im in the army and living in the barracks, i have to pay by the hour at the on post do it yourself place. Was a bit upset, changed the front control arm bushings last weekend, and am goin to work on the rear here soon. Am still getting an annoying metal on metal thunk from the front end, not sure where its at. Feel it in my feet. But cant locate it. Going to post some pics for your personal enjoyment have a great day all.

x2 on thanking you for your service in the Military and for our country!

The "thunk" that you feel at your feet, does this happen when the truck is doing anything in particular....like speed bumps...etc?

I would try jacking up each side and checking the wheel bearings for play....could also be your driveshaft making noise at the transfercase.

As stated, thanks for serving.

I had a 'thunk' in my front end. Needed front shocks/bushings.

I have the same issue. New wheel bearings shocks springs. No says. Could be panhard mount or radius arm too

I'm sure that's the kind of spaghetti I'll find behind the aftermarket stereo the PO hacked into my disco's dash, lol.

Bummer about the auto-hobby shop charging by the hour. I was hoping it would be cheap when I want to use their lift. It was a real PITA lifting my '07 JK to put 35's on and I don't want to "jenga" blocks of wood on a jack again, lol. Make sure to let us know what you find.

Did you PMCS it regularly? LOL <-had to. The Joes i was with in Iraq were always getting their asses chewed out for not doing it right. I'm a Zoomie, but was one of one with the Navy EOD on an Army COP. We gave you guys ****, but I was always glad someone(or occasionally somebody in addition to me) was on a 50 Cal watching my six or up in an Apache or two.

If you're ever in the MD area, PM me and we'll work on our Rovers together and save time, haha.
